At the initiative of the Pridnestrovian side, a meeting of representatives on political issues is scheduled to take place at the OSCE Mission office in Tiraspol on April 16, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., in the presence of international mediators and observers.
The starting point of the agenda will be compliance with the fundamental principles of the negotiation process and the fulfillment of commitments made under existing agreements, which will make it possible to clearly define the mandate and the Republic of Moldova’s genuine readiness to reach practical solutions in the interests of citizens.
Particular attention will be paid to preventing the escalation of regional tensions and attempts to undermine international efforts toward a settlement, prompted by the Republic of Moldova’s plans to impose a new round of trade and economic sanctions against Pridnestrovie.
A discussion is planned aimed at eliminating discriminatory practices against Pridnestrovian citizens, guaranteeing their return to their places of permanent residence, and ensuring that the Republic of Moldova implements the OSCE ODIHR recommendations to repeal repressive criminal legislation on so-called “separatism”, which threatens the security and physical integrity of Pridnestrovians on the territory of neighboring Moldova.
Pridnestrovie will continue to insist on the establishment of an adequate framework for cooperation in the prevention of cross-border drug trafficking, in the fight against crime, and regarding the ecology of the Dniester River, which can contribute to the protection of people’s well-being.
The issue of the inadmissibility of Nazi propaganda, the distortion of history, and the manipulative use of educational programs will also be discussed.
