On the Meeting of Experts on Phytosanitary and Veterinary Issues

03/25/26

Today, a videoconference was held between experts from Pridnestrovie and the Republic of Moldova in the fields of phytosanitary and veterinary medicine.

Given the current trends associated with a significant rise in fuel prices, Pridnestrovian experts proposed exploring the possibility of importing into the republic the most affordable plant protection products – in terms of pricing – needed by agricultural producers during the current planting season. Pridnestrovie also proposed conducting a comparison of the current registries of veterinary drugs authorized for import.

In addition, the sides agreed to continue working to ensure monitoring and the systematic exchange of information regarding reported outbreaks of animal diseases (African swine fever, avian influenza, etc.) based on existing agreements in this area.

The Pridnestrovian side proposed simplifying the bureaucratic procedures related to the movement of non-productive (domestic) animals by individuals through Moldovan territory.

Other relevant issues in related fields were also discussed during the event.
